Our Story
At Advisicon, our journey began with a simple but powerful pupose: to equip people and organizations with the tools and training they need to achieve meaningful, measurable results.
In 1992, we opened our doors as Everest Consulting Group, a technology training company focused on helping individuals harness the power of software. Just a few years later, we expanded into automation and database development, working with major brands like Nike, Hewlett Packard, and Intel to streamline their systems and solve real-world challenges.
By 1998, we had delivered 45 custom tool solutions—proof that the right blend of technology and expertise could transform how teams work. In 1999, we wrote our first book on project management and technology. That was just the beginning. Today, we’ve published over 45 books and taught more than 100,000 students worldwide.
In 2000, Advisicon was officially formed to focus on project, program, and portfolio management consulting. We quickly became known for combining technical know-how with real business insight, helping organizations not just adopt tools, but use them strategically.
Through the early 2000s, we expanded into Latin America, launched new international offices, and pioneered deployment of Microsoft SharePoint and Project Server. We authored detailed administrator, project manager, team member, and portfolio manager guides—four books for every version we supported.
As our expertise deepened, so did our influence. We were honored in 2011 to join Microsoft’s Advisory Council on Project Management, a milestone that gave us a seat at the table to help shape the future of work management technologies and gain insights into Microsoft’s evolving project solutions.
In the years that followed, we continued to evolve. Our marketing department launched in 2016, and in 2017, we centralized Latin American operations from Costa Rica while also launching our Nonprofit Support division to serve mission-driven organizations.
In 2020, we responded to global changes by launching a full-featured online Learning Management System, allowing individuals to gain skills at their own pace through virtual, self-guided training.
Today, our founder, Tim Runcie, stands as one of the longest consecutively awarded Microsoft MVPs in Project Technology — a recognition of leadership, innovation, and impact.
