The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), based in Arlington, Virginia, is a nonprofit organization providing educational programs to public television stations. PBS’s PMO sought a solution to migrate from their existing Wrike Project Management software to M365 Project Online. They also wanted to integrate Power BI for improved reporting and analytics.
Business Situation
PBS was looking to migrate from their previous project management software, Wrike, to Microsoft’s Project Online through M365, aiming to centralize project management and improve operational efficiency. PBS procured Microsoft 365 and granted Advisicon the necessary licenses for the implementation of Project Web Application (PWA) and Power BI. Advisicon conducted multiple requirements-gathering sessions to understand PBS’s specific needs and then configured M365 Project Online to meet those requirements. A comprehensive Power BI report pack was developed and integrated with PWA using OData, ensuring that the project data was automatically fed into Power BI for reporting.
Additionally, Advisicon provided training for PWA Users, Administrators, and Power BI users, equipping PBS’s team with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively use the new tools. This training ensured that PBS staff could maximize the value of Project Online and Power BI, while understanding how to integrate the tools into their existing processes.
